NAHAD is pleased to launch one of its newest initiatives, the Women in NAHAD (WIN) Program, during the 2017 Annual Convention. This program was created to provide a forum for women in the hose distribution industry to network with their peers and discuss key issues facing women in the marketplace today. NAHAD will launch this program with a networking breakfast where women can discuss the latest industry and workforce development issues. NAHAD Executive Committee Member Karen Brandvold will lead this session, which will also include special guest speaker, Valerie Alexander.

Valerie Alexander is a nationValerie Alexander Photoally recognized speaker, author and corporate trainer on the topics of happiness, happiness in the workplace and the advancement of women. She is a former securities lawyer, investment banker, screenwriter and director, and is the founder and CEO of Goalkeeper Media, maker of the Happy Couples Bot. She will lead a discussion on How Women Can Succeed in the Workplace (Despite Having “Female Brains”). In this provocative talk, Valerie Alexander speaks candidly about how the value placed on instinctively female behavior can limit women’s success, particularly in male-dominated fields, and what we can do to overcome those limitations.

In addition to this discussion, WIN will offer additional insights throughout the year to help support the professional development of women in the hose and hose accessories business and offer insights for companies to attract top-level female talent.
