NAHAD is pleased to launch one of its newest initiatives, the Women in NAHAD (WIN) Program, during the 2017 Annual Convention. This program was created to provide a forum for women in the hose distribution industry to network with their peers and discuss key issues facing women in the marketplace today. NAHAD will launch this program with a networking breakfast where women can discuss the latest industry and workforce development issues. WIN will offer additional insights throughout the year to help support the professional development of women in the hose and hose accessories business and offer insights for companies to attract top-level female talent.

It doesn’t just make good common sense, it makes the best business sense to hire, retain, and develop more women in the workplace. Companies with more women in mid-level and leadership roles make more money, reduce turnover, and appeal to the consumer buying power of women as they reflect 80 percent of the purchasing decisions. The business case is undeniable and iron clad…women will get you results! But, HOW do you tap into this invaluable resource and catapult your company to the next level? Learn the most effective strategies to recruit, retain, and develop your top female talent from a global HR expert. Diversity and inclusion is not just a buzz word, it is the secret to success.

Sunday, April 29, 2018 | 34th Annual NAHAD Annual Meeting & Convention
10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Judy Hoberman began her career as an insurance sales agent, and eventually became the founder of her own agency. Along the way, she learned to articulate what often gets lost in the modern corporate setting: Women want to be treated equally—not identically. The on-the-ground reality is that there are very real differences between how men and women sell, manage, and recruit. This workshop will provide a proven blueprint for how to recruit the best talent, retain and grow your existing business, then reinforce these habits among your employees and team. Combining her own real-life experiences with analytical cases studies and statistics, Judy focuses on how both genders can support each other to achieve a more productive and profitable workplace. Going one step further, when you think of being a leader, do certain skills immediately come to mind? Are some more male-centric while others more female? The truth is, real leadership is ‘going soft’...while hard skills will get you the job, it’s the soft skills that will get you to the top. The importance of soft skills in leadership, as well as the seven qualities of leadership, will be a topic worth discussing.
